El término Syzygy se aplica cuando el Sol y la Luna están en conjunción (luna nueva) u oposición (luna llena).

Cuando los primeros hombres tomaron conciencia de la luz que emitía el sol, y de la relación que existe entre luz y día, oscuridad y noche, atribuyeron al Sol y a la Luna valores opuestos: el sol causa el día, pero la luna causa la noche; durante el día hace calor, pero por la noche hace frío; el día está lleno de Luz, la noche si está llena de Oscuridad.

Una leyenda maya dice que en los días en que los dioses aún eran mortales existía un amor tan profundo y puro que su fuerza creó el Sol y la Luna, el Día y las Noches y las Estrellas que brillan arriba. La civilización maya creía que los dioses guiaban al Sol y la Luna a través del cielo. Incluso en la oscuridad de la noche, creían que el sol y la luna continuaban viajando por el inframundo. It’s an obscure phenomenon where three celestial bodies align in a perfect straight-line configuration. The term, Syzygy, is often applied when the sun and moon are in conjunction (new moon) or opposition (full moon). This fits perfectly with the opposites being equal and opposing, yet complementary, balancing, and mysterious.

When the first man became conscious of the light that is emitted from the sun, and the relationship that exists between light and day, darkness and night, they attributed it to the sun and moon’s opposite values:

A Mayan legend says that in the days when the gods were still mortals, there existed a love so deep and pure that its strength created the sun and the moon, the days and the nights, and the stars that shine above. The Mayan civilization believed that the gods guided the sun and the moon across the sky.
